You can't lose weight lying around the house and sitting at a desk all day. If exercise is missing from your daily routine, you may want to think again about fitting into that little back dress. You've got to make the effort. Make a few small changes daily and reap big rewards!

By doing the following you can ensure you build a little more exercise into your life:

* Cut down the amount of time you spend watching television
* Get out of your chair whenever you can at home and at work
* Stand up while on the telephone and hide the remote controls for the TV
* Seek out the opportunity to be active during your day - use the upstairs bathroom, park at the edge of the car park, walk to the local store
* Use household chores as an exercise class - turn up the music and tackle them with vigour
* Plan a period of specific activity on most days of the week that lasts for between 20 and 30 minutes: for example, walking, swimming or gardening
* Join the gym or take up a sport that interests you
* Encourage the whole family to be active by making it part of your social activities

Energy levels will rise, weight will go down and mood will be enhanced. It's that easy! Go for it!
